This past weekend my husband and I managed to escape to the mountains. Jasper National Park lies 3 hours west of us. Located in the Athabasca River valley, at the confluence with Miette River, Jasper lies between the Victoria Ranges (northwest), Pyramid Mountain (north), Maligne Range (southeast) and Indian Ridge (southwest). The Canadian Rockies are some of the most majestic mountains I have seen. The images below are from our day trip to the Athabasca Falls and our meanderings along the river valley. The light was brilliant. A perfect weekend.
